Nutrition
Nutritional support in the elderly is a key therapy for improving/preventing the onset of illnesses. The type of diet required depends on the present illness and the previous health record.
It is not easy to define nutritional guidelines for the elderly for three main reasons. The term `elderly' or even '55+' can be applied to people accross a wide range of age whilst physical and functional fitness may vary in people of the same age. Also present nutritional status will influence the requirements.
This is why we develop a flexible plan built around your unique and changing needs. The personal relationship between a service user and their dedicated key worker ensures that the most accurate assesments are made regarding dietary requirements.
