Bupa garden for dementia patients won a gold medal at Chelsea flower show
We have teamed up with a leading dementia garden design firm to understand the role of therapeutic gardens in ameliorating the effects of old age to provide increased independence.
The results of the extensive report suggested that life would be greatly improved for service users, staff, relatives and visitors as well as the wider community if they had regular access to a therapeutic garden.
A therapeautic garden can be defined as an outdoor garden space designed to meet the specific physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of elderly people in care as well as their caregivers, family members and friends.
